Spanish/Tutoring

Basic Steps After-School K-6 Program is special in two ways: (1) the curriculum is customized to the learners’ needs and (2) students work at their own pace to enhance their achievement.

We will have 2 different programs running on Tuesdays & Thursdays for elementary-school children:

1. The SPANISH language program — Our language program focuses on helping children learn new vocabulary words and how to read in Spanish. We teach all levels from beginning to advance. Click here to read the class descriptions.

2. The TUTORING program for MATH, READING, & WRITING — Whether it’s about homework help, improving or advancing your child’s literacy skills, our tutoring program will help your child gain the necessary skills in succeeding at school. The program director will communicate with parents and the students’ teachers beforehand to design a customized curriculum for students. Parents can choose to sign up as many sessions as they would like for their children and then, a curriculum is put together based on the students’ particular needs. Parents should keep in mind that the first 2-3 weeks of the program is primarily about building a strong relationship with your child and getting to know your child’s learning styles and attitudes.
